1965 Ford Mustang: bare‑metal restoration

1965 Ford Mustang coupé

This 1965 Mustang was taken right back to bare metal. We cut out and replaced rusted sections of the floor and chassis, metal-finished every panel, then refinished the whole car in gloss black in our spray booth. A flawless finish: the pictures don’t do it justice.

How it works

Our restorations process

  1. Inspect & plan

We assess the car with you, agree what “original glory” means for it, and give you a detailed plan and quote.

  2. Strip back

Panels, trim and paint come off so we can see, and fix, everything underneath.

  3. Repair & refinish

Rust and damage are repaired, panels fabricated where needed, then primed and painted.

  4. Reassemble & reveal

Everything goes back together and is detailed, inspected and handed back.

FAQ

Restorations questions

All FAQs

Do you restore classic and vintage cars?

Yes. Alongside everyday repairs, we restore classic, vintage and speciality cars, from rust repair and panel fabrication through to full resprays. Recent projects are shown on our Restorations page.

How long does a restoration take?

It depends on the car’s condition, the work involved and parts availability. A restoration takes longer than a standard repair, so we will inspect your car first and give you a detailed plan and timeline.

Can I see work you have done before?

Yes. Our project gallery on the Restorations page shows cars before, during and after the work. You are also welcome to visit the workshop in Ōtāhuhu to talk through your project.
